Precautions

US BOXED WARNING(S):
-This product is only intended for use by physicians experienced in istering allergenic extracts or for use under the guidance of an allergy specialist.
-Severe systemic reactions may happen, and may cause death in certain individuals.
Recommendations:
-Skin tests should be performed after the patient’s physical wellbeing and allergic history own been evaluated.
-Instruct patients to recognize adverse reaction symptoms and to contact the physician if symptoms occur.
-Emergency measures as well as personnel trained in their use should be immediately available in the event of a life-threatening reaction.
-Never inject this product intravenously.

Usual Adult Dose for Diagnostic

0.1 mL intradermally, as superficially as possible, creating a distinct bleb approximately 5 mm in diameter

Comments:
-Examine test after 15 to 20 minutes and read as negative or positive.
-Test sites showing wheal and flare should be measured; report in mm of edema or score as 1+ to 4+ based on a mm reference scale.
-Induration can happen after 24 to 48 hours in some patients and should also be recorded in mm.

Use(s): For intradermal skin testing of persons suspected of having type I sensitivity (i.e.

allergy) to Trichophyton fungus.
